Babysitter Training
Purpose:
To provide youth who are planning to babysit with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and responsibly give care for children and infants. This training will help participants to develop leadership skills; learn how to develop a babysitting business, keep themselves and others safe and help children behave; and learn about basic child care and basic first aid. Through a unique, interactive educational format, participants will learn by doing. This course is recommended for ages 11 - 15.
Learn How To:
- Care for Children and Infants.
- Perform basic child-care skills such as diapering and feeding.
- Choose safe, age appropriate games and toys.
- Handle bedtime and discipline issues.
- Identify safety hazards and prevent injuries.
- Care for common injuries and emergencies, such as choking, burns, cuts and bee stings.
- Communicate effectively with parents.
- Find and interview for babysitting jobs.

Students Receive materials that are useful both during the course and on the job. Including:
- Compact Emergency Reference Guide - provides step-by-step instructions to handle common emergencies
- Babysitter Training Handbook - packed with information and full-color skill sheet
- Interactive CD-ROM - featuring an activity booklet with games, songs, recipes and other activities
