The Washtenaw-Lenawee Chapter has been recognized as one of the highest performing chapters in the United States by the National American Red Cross headquartered in Washington, D.C.To receive this honor, the chapter had to meet or exceed a comprehensive set of performance standards completed by Red Cross chapters nationwide. Only 35 of 720 Red Cross Chapters throughout the country earned this level of recognition for performance excellence.
Donna Duvin, the chapter's executive director stated that the award is all the more meaningful given the many challenges faced by the chapter over the past few years, including a restructuring due to changes in the economy."Given the current landscape, this award provides further assurance that a compassionate, effective, and responsible Red Cross can be relied upon to meet the needs of people in our communities when they need us most."
Funds you raise go directly to help individuals in your community. They help cut costs for Red Cross, saving money that can be put to use providing services.
Note: Thanks to all who may be interested in raising funds for American Red Cross Disaster Relief. We take pride in preserving the public's trust and ensuring that donations are spent wisely. For this reason, all efforts to raise funds on behalf of the Red Cross must be approved in advance.

The American Red Cross is not a government agency and all Red Cross disaster assistance is free thanks to the generosity of people like you. The value of your donation is increased by the fact that the ratio of volunteer Red Cross workers to paid staff is almost 36 to one. Contributions to the American Red Cross, a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, are deductible for computing income and estate taxes.
